Applied for a French mortgage in mid September 07 and paid the broker £750 ! for a specific deal. When the papers turned up to sign mid December, they were nothing like what I had originally applied for ! Had to go with another lender, but same broker for another specific rate and the wrong offer was sent out again! This was rectified and wait for it….was the wrong one sent again which incurred charges that I did not want. This had taken ages and I could not wait for another offer to be sent as so much time had been waisted and the vendor was quite rightly getting very uptight! I feel like I have been fleeced ! Whilst French mortgages are not covered by the F.S.A. this broker is I feel miss selling products he cannot deliver. Would be very grateful for some advise from any budding solicitors. I have written to the broker complaining and he says he has had an ‘in house’ investigation and nothing was wrong !!!
