I’d love to do acting and perform for a living. I know I’m not going to be a movie star, but lots of people earn a living with small roles on TV and stage acting- but I know this won’t be possible without drama school.

My parents are strongly against this, they say I’ll get into debt and won’t have any way of paying it back. I speak French, but I’m a native English speaker so they think I should do a language degree because I can get a job in so many places with that. They say that after I’ve done my degree and got a mortgage then I can go back and do Drama…..but even though I’ll be about 24- I would be past it and too old to start.

I don’t want to have the new car, three bedroom house complete with mortgage. I’d be happy renting a cheap little apartment, performing and living on instant noodles…but I don’t know if they’re right…

What do you think I should do?
